The deepest part of the cave is 5 meters.Underground corridors connect the caves here in Jambiani to Paje through water veins.
The Swahili Cave is not only special for swimming and diving.The spiritual value must also be mentioned. Originally, the local people came to the cave to pray or to heal themselves from serious illnesses. A female spirit lives in the Swahili Cave, the guardian of the cave. You can feel this special energy of this spirit while meditating on one of the rocks.
Above the cave you can see beautiful baobab trees.
Two of these trees are intertwined like lovers. In Zanzibar it is said that a spirit lives in each of the baobab trees. Therefore these trees are never felled here. It is said that the spirit of love and friendship lives in our trees above the cave.
